Used shoes for sale will be kept in cubbies at the Chicago dance location. There will be a bag
for used hard shoes and a bag for used soft shoes. There will be only one shoe of each pair in
the bag. If the "shoe fits" and you want to buy them, Geraldine will have the match.
THE GOING PRICE FOR USED SHOES IS 1/2 OF THE NEW RETAIL PRICE IF THEY ARE IN
EXCELLENT CONDITION(MEANING "LIKE NEW"). For example: Antonio Pacelli Gazelle soft
shoes retail for around $40, therefore the used price in excellent condition, would be around
$20. Rutherford girls' hard shoes retail for $140, so the used price, depending on condition,
would be $70.
If you want to sell shoes, this is what you would do:
-Make sure the shoes are clean and look their best.
-Put a label on each shoe with the size of the shoe, your name, phone number, the dancer's
name and the selling price of the shoes. The name of the dancer is only needed to help
identify who wore the shoes. Sometime other parents and dancers won't recognize the name
of the person selling the shoes, but we know the dancer.
-Put one shoe, with the label affixed, in the appropriate "used shoe sale" bag in the cubbie at
the Chicago dance location. If you are not in Chicago, give the shoes to Geraldine and she will
put them in the bag. She will keep one shoe separate until someone buys them.
-If someone wants to buy the shoes, they will take the one shoe to Geraldine, she will give you
the mate and you will pay her the money. Geraldine will put the money in an envelope and
give the money to the seller. GERALDINE WILL NOT NEGOTIATE PRICE, if someone wants
to discuss the price, they they must call the person selling the shoes.
If you want to purchase shoes, this is what you would do:
-look in the cubbies at the Chicago dance location for bags marked "used soft shoes" for sale
and "used hard shoes" for sale.
-There will be one shoe for each pair in the bag. The shoe will be labeled with the size of the
shoe, the name of the person selling the shoe, the phone number, the dancer's name and the
selling price.
-Try on the shoe, if you want to buy them, take the shoe to Geraldine, along with the money
and she will give you the mate to the shoe. If you don't have the money, then she will not give
you the mate.
Please be considerate, Geraldine is busy teaching dance, she cannot try to manage a
used shoe sale. However, she will advise you regarding the fit of the shoe.
Also, GERALDINE WILL NOT NEGOTIATE PRICE, if you want to discuss the price, then you
must call the person selling the shoe. Please call the parent, not the dancer. (Remember, you
probably wouldn't want your dancer having to talk about the price of her shoes).
There will be labels for use in marking the shoes in the cubbies.
For all of you that cannot go to the Chicago dance location, tell Geraldine or another parent
what you are looking for and someone will either bring the bag or a shoe for you to try on. If
you want to sell shoes, get the shoes ready and give them to Geraldine or another parent who
also goes to the city and the shoes will be put in the bag. Geraldine will periodically bring the
bags to other dance locations.
